The Sejour & Celigny family gathered on Saturday, April 27, in Nyack, New York, to celebrate the life of their beloved Jean Lovanis, affectionately known as "Papou.Papou was admired for his friendly nature and his unwavering support for the women in his family. Papou's belief in the transformative power of education inspired those around him to strive for excellence.

The Sejour & Celigny family celebrated the life of their beloved Jean Lovanis in a loving farewell on  Saturday, April 27, in Nyack, New York. Born on December 18, 1954, Jean passed away on April 6.

Affectionately called ‘Papou’ he was a dedicated engineer at AT&T for many years. Known for his friendly demeanor, he always stood up for the women in his family. A devoted fan of the Knicks basketball team, he cherished game nights with the remote control firmly in hand.

His belief in the power of education was unwavering, inspiring those around him to strive for academic excellence and positively impact their lives and communities.

Papou’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Papou is survived by his wife and children Lunique, Hansley, Jeffrey & Sarah Iranie, as well as his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He will be missed.
