The Borussia Dortmund striker scored twice against Bayern Munich to make a big move up the leaderboard at the weekend.

A fine performance from Erling Haaland against Bayern Munich saw the Dortmund striker move level with Lionel Messi in the European Golden Shoe race.

Haaland netted twice to move on to 19 goals and 38 points, putting him in a tie for third with Barcelona sensation Messi, who did not score against Osasuna in La Liga.

That outing without a goal in a 2-0 win for Barca ended a remarkable eight-match scoring streak in league action for Messi.

In-form Eintracht Frankfurt forward Andre Silva is level with the duo on 19 goals. Stuttgart stopped him from scoring at the weekend, the first time in six games the striker had not netted.

Cristiano Ronaldo is second with 20 goals. The Juventus forward scored against Spezia last Tuesday, his fourth strike in three Serie A games. That edged him ahead of Messi.

Paul Onuachu of Genk has 25 goals and would be second in the standings if he played in a major league with a better weighting for points.

He still sits ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Romelu Lukaku, who both have 18 goals and 36 points.

Mbappe was in Coupe de France action at the weekend so could not add to his tally, while Lukaku had to settle for two assists for Inter against Parma.

But while Haaland scored twice early on in Der Klassiker, Robert Lewandowski responded with a hat-trick to guide Bayern to a thrilling 4-2 win.

Lewandowski has moved on to a sensational 31 goals and 62 points in the European Golden Shoe race.
