Likewise, questions over why he was not allowed to leave on loan during the summer are still unanswered.

The 24 year-old has played just 66 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, starting in just one of Tottenham’s seven top-flight fixtures against Everton in which he was substituted at half-time.

Mourinho has been using the Europa League to provide Alli with some first-team minutes. But even during last week’s loss against Royal Antwerp, the Spurs star was replaced at half-time.

Having blocked any move away during the previous window, it seems logical for Spurs to sanction a loan move for Alli during the forthcoming winter window. Continue reading
