It’s been a year since the Cherubin brothers announced the launch of a Haitian television, Tele America. Next month, the station is scheduled to begin broadcasting out of its Little Haiti studios as the staff is getting assembled. It will run 24 hours a day on digital cable to viewers in South Florida and New York, and across Haiti. The channel is part of a growing global movement the Cherubins hope to bring Haitians together through media, using new technologies to create more varied, alternative and community-focused broadcasting. They have invested over $1 million in equipment.
