There are now dozens reasons why Harmonik shouldn’t have ducked out of his scheduled performances in France. Fanfan Mizik, the promoter who was supposed to bring the band to France for the first time filed suit against them in Paris. Fanfan Mizik is suing Harmonik and its manager Rodney Noel, for failing to honor its contract. In a public statement, the Paris-based Haitian production company said that the band’s promotional tour cost it nearly $20,000, and will not accept the fact that the band just decided not to come to perform.
Fanfan claims the last he heard from the band was on a flyer promoting them for another gig. Harmonik manager, for his part , explained that the promoter never had a formal contract, except a deposit made for Harmonik’s first album. Whether or not either part is right or wrong, the damage is already done, and the band’s fans that were coming as far as from Belgium and Spain have been left totally disappointed by the cancellation.
