Port-au-Prince, Haiti -  Haiti's interim Prime Minister Ariel Henry has pledged to hold general elections by mid-2025 following pressure from Caribbean leaders.

At the 46th CARICOM summit in Guyana last week, which focused primarily on Haïti's crisis, the members bloc demanded a timeline for restoring democracy after last year's assassination of President Jovenel Moïse plunged Haiti into turmoil. CARICOM stressed the need for an inclusive vote encompassing all political factions and civil society.
