PORT-AU-PRINCE—Benin has pledged to deploy 2,000 soldiers as part of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission to support the Haitian National Police in the fight against gangs and to restore security in Haiti. 

The United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, announced Benin's commitment during the 46th meeting of Caribbean Community (Caricom) leaders. further solidifying the U.S.'s pivotal role in the ongoing negotiations for the mission's deployment
