Ariel Henry, William Ruto

PORT-AU-PRINCE — The president of Kenya said on Tuesday that his government is in contact with Haitian officials to reach a ‘reciprocal agreement’ that will allow them to proceed with the deployment of Multinational Support and Security (MSS) Mission troops in Haiti against gangs. President William Ruto shared the latest move with Reuters during the Italo-African summit in Rome.

“This mission could take place as early as next week if all documents are filled between Kenya and Haiti on the bilateral route suggested by the court,” Ruto said, according to Reuters. “The mission is on track. It represents a significant call to humanity.”
