There was little drama in Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-1 win over Olympique Lyonnais to reach the Coupe de France final but there was plenty of it at the end of the other semi-final matchup between AS Saint-Étienne and Stade Rennais.

With literally seconds remaining in stoppage time and the game level at 1-1, Ryad Boudebouz scored for Les Verts to send them to their first French Cup final since 1982.

It was an incredible scene at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard once the final whistle blew. Saint-Étienne supporters poured onto the pitch to greet their heroes and celebrate a huge win for the club.

Anything can happen in a cup final but facing Saint-Étienne over Rennes is a positive for PSG. In last season’s cup final. Continue reading
