Haitian community comes together to bid former Ambassador Paul Altidor adieu, as theories circulate on motivation behind the well-liked diplomat’s departure
Throughout his tenure, Altidor was known for opening the doors of the embassy to both the community and those not familiar with Haitian culture. He often sponsored a variety of events — from fashion shows to panel discussions– in the palatial space that’s ordained with colorful pieces of Haitian artwork.
The opposition parties exists only in name and they are plentiful. But we don’t hear much about their plans and their vision for the country, even during elections. The attitude is “give me the power and I will show you.” That is warped logic and it has gotten us anything but warped reality.
At a time when Haiti is facing critical issues that need representation before the Trump administration, Paul Altidor, received a letter on Tuesday informing him that his services will no longer be needed. The recall was effective immediately.
