Bandits shot five people in Bel Air, Port-au-Prince over the weekend. One died and the other four were transported to the hospital.
G9 Family and Allies engaged in a shooting battle with members from a opposite gang in Bel Air, Port-au-Prince to avenge the murder of two of their gangmates on Sunday evening.
As they have done each year since President Jovenel Moise took office by decree, members of the opposition groups will take to the streets on Oct. 17 to denounce his government.
Haiti’s Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe said authorities chose not to help Bel Air massacre victims because sending in the police to confront the gangs involved would have been worse for residents.
