Haitian Creative and Cultural Industries Symposium

THELAR Management Group, Macaya Foundation and their partners invite you to the First Annual Haitian Creative and Cultural Industries Symposium (HCCIS) to be held on November 10-11, 2017 at Florida Memorial University, located on 15800 NW 42nd Ave, Miami Gardens, FL 33054, United States. The two-day symposium is a first of this kind in the Haitian market targeting artists, professionals and entrepreneurs of Creative and Cultural Industries.
The theme of the first year is: “Toward organized Creative and Cultural Industries”.
The mission of the Haitian Creative and Cultural Industries Symposium (HCCIS) is to create a platform for Haitian artists from different arts discipline, entrepreneurs and professionals of the creative and cultural industries in Haiti and in the Diaspora to effectively address issues related to their industries in order to promote collaborative and creative strategies that will help organizing and developing these industries in Haiti to better respond to international market demands.
Panels of discussion and workshops will be conducted in English, Creole and French by professionals and representatives of global and national organizations advocated in the development of creative and cultural industries. Prominent figures of the government and lawmakers from Haiti, American arts non-profit organizations and government agencies, local and internationally known Haitian artists, entrepreneurs and professionals of different area of expertise, and young people aspiring to have a career in these industries will be among participants of this event hosted at Florida Memorial University, one of the oldest academic centers in Florida and the only Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in South Florida.
