PORT-AU-PRINCE—On a sunny June afternoon, renowned Haitian artist and writer, Frankétienne opened the doors of his home to art enthusiasts, collectors and curious visitors for an exhibit of his extended archives and latest works. But besides pure enjoyment and appreciation of artistic creations, the event had a very practical purpose: To help Frankétienne raise funds as the renowned author, and many other artists, grapple with declining sales of their works amid Haiti’s ongoing political crisis.
