MIAMI — Haitian and Black detainees at the Broward Transitional Center who said they were assaulted and outnumbered by Dominicans are still in lock-up, nearly a week after the melee broke out.

The Haitian detainees say they are unable to visit the yard or cafeteria in the Pompano Beach facility because prison officials forbade such movements for their safety.
