Violette Athletic Club wrote its name in Haitian sports history Tuesday night by becoming the first Haitian club to win a Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League two-game series after beating Austin Football Club 3-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16.

“What a defensive performance, a courageous performance,” Calvin War, of Montréal, commented on Facebook. “Hoping that this victory will help Haitian soccer.”
