PORT-AU-PRINCE — Revelers were back at Champ de Mars for a second day Monday to move to the rythms of rara and konpa, eat street foods and drink up during the capital’s carnival celebration.

Costumes, parades, exhibitions and fried foods marked Day 2, bringing along a boost to a carnival year that started off subdued. All around the decorative floats, carnival goers enjoyed the entertainment provided by roots dance groups, jugglers, acrobats and other exhibitionists. They danced to catchy tunes of On the move, Flash Band and Soul Rasta. Rèv, another roots band, drew thousands with its grooves as it made its way along the parade route. DJ Constant followed up and made revelers jump or bounce in place in celebration.
