On Feb. 16, the City University of New York’s Citizenship Now program is bringing an immigration clinic to the heart of Brooklyn’s Haitian community at Medgar Evers College.
Last month, the Haitian American Lawyers Association of New York (HALANY) participated in a clinic geared towards Temporary Protection Status (TPS) with Haitian Americans United for Progress (HAUP). During the event over Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, the lawyers and volunteers helped more than 300 attendees complete TPS forms. They now are seeing clients by appointment only.
