Dr. Peterson Gédé, the medical director of Les Cayes General Hospital, announced that a team of mental health professionals will be arriving at the hospital next week to provide psychological care to patients, their families, and the hospital staff.
Due to the injuries and material losses caused by the earthquake, everyone is struggling, and the hospital requires more support, particularly regarding orthopedic supplies, as they are receiving an overwhelming number of injured patients.
Dr. Gédé appealed to the international community and those not directly affected by the earthquake for assistance, emphasizing that the south urgently needs all the help it can get.
