Haiti’s health ministry accepted a donation of 130,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from the World Health Organization (WHO), an official told Miami Herald Wednesday.

Assistant Director Dr. Jarbas Barbosa didn’t say when the one-shot vaccine will arrive in Haiti.

In April, Haiti rejected a donation of 756,000 doses of the vaccine from WHO, leaving Haiti as the only country in the Caribbean that hadn’t received any COVID-19 vaccine yet.

This month, Haiti saw its confirmed COVID-19 cases rise to 70 new cases per day, President Jovenel Moïse said. Source
