More than 141 schools were built in the last four years in Haiti under President Jovenel Moïse, according to a report the ministry of education published in January.

The Ministry of National Education and Professional Training (MENFP) also reported that over USD $56 million were used to pay salaries owed to school officials, teachers included.

Nevertheless as of April, students took to the streets to demand that their teachers report to class. Some state teachers started going on strike in August because of lack of pay. Source
