President Jovenel Moïse issued a decree Friday to extend interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph’s term for 30 more days.

Joseph was appointed as prime minister for 30 days on Apr. 14, when Joseph Jouthe abruptly resigned. 

The government reached out to five politicians to fill the role permanently, but they’re not on the same “wavelength” as President Moïse, a government official said two weeks ago. Source

  1. I advise President Jovenel to keep Joseph as his prime minister until the end of his mandate.
