Port-au-Prince’s major gang leaders told government disarmament officials that they will stop kidnapping people temporarily, according to a person close to the unit.

The gangs in Grand-Ravine and Village-de-Dieu made that decision after negotiating with the officials from the National Commission for Disarmament, Dismantlement and Reintegration (CNDDR), the source said. Source
