A 12-year-old boy died in Brooklyn on Friday after he took beatings from bullies at school over two days — including one assault made on a $1 dare, the boy’s family said.
Police call Romy Vilsaint’s death “suspicious,” and say they are investigating.
Medics responding to a call on Cortelyou Rd. near Nostrand Ave. in East Flatbush just after 2:05 p.m. found Romy losing consciousness, said family members and authorities.
Romy, a 5th grader at Public School 361 on Newkirk Ave., came home from school Wednesday and told his family two boys had beaten him up, said Romy’s cousin, Roodwiny Exantus. Sources said the attack happened just as students were dismissed for the day.
“He said he had a slight headache and his waist hurt,” said Exantus, 28.
It happened again on Thursday, when another boy punched Romy in the back of his head on a $1 dare, said Romy’s family. Continue reading
