President Jovenel Moïse inaugurated Saturday the Marion hydroelectric dam in Terrier Rouge, a commune in the Northeastern Department about 20 miles from Cap-Haitien.

The USD $10 million dam was completed over three years. It will be used primarily to water soil, and also provide access to drinking water, produce electricity, protect against flooding and breed fish.

Moïse said two more dams are under construction in the Northern region. Source
