Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has placed Haiti in 87th place in its freedom of press ranking.

The standing released Tuesday looks at countries to determine where the press has the most freedom to where it has the least. Out of the RSF list of 180 countries, Haiti is ranked 87th, a four-point drop from its 83rd position in 2020.

In the past year, both police officers and demonstrators have assaulted numerous journalists, sometimes on camera, during Haiti’s ongoing protests to end violence. Source
