After gang members in Village de Dieu murdered five police officers last Friday, two more officers were killed in Port-au-Prince.

Police chief denies bribing gang to get vehicle back
Leon Charles, the head of the police force, has denied rumors that he bribed gang members to get a police armored vehicle back from them.
Police officers retrieved the armored vehicle on Tuesday after gang members in Village de Dieu had taken it and killed five police officers over the weekend.
“The police were informed that the armored vehicle was abandoned somewhere,” Charles said. “Aware of the danger that such material could represent for the safety of the population, we took all the necessary steps to recover it beyond all considerations.” Source
