It was widely-reported and assumed that Bayern Munich II’s coaching staff would be led by Martin Demichelis and Danny Schwarz next season, but things have changed per a report from Sport1.
The aforementioned coaching duo appeared set to take over for Holger Seitz after this season, but current U-19 coach Martin Demichelis and current U-17 coach Danny Schwarz have decided to part ways from their expected partnership.
Because Demichelis does not currently meet the DFL’s requirement to hold a UEFA Pro license, he needs to be grouped with another coach who does maintain the certification. Obviously, the Bayern Munich front office is scrambling a bit on what to do next. Here is the quick breakdown from Sport1:
According to Sport1 information, there was a conversation between Demichelis and Schwarz. With the result that the two want to go their separate ways in the future. Since sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic absolutely wants to promote his buddy Demichelis to the Bayern reserves, Schwarz will remain as a coach in the U-17.
The separation of the successful duo poses a problem: Demichelis has only had one coaching module to date, which he completed during his co-coaching time at FC Málaga in Spain (2017/2018).
Essentially, had Schwarz and Demichelis maintained their partnership, Schwarz would have been the “official manager” because he holds the necessary licensing. In effect, however, the duo would have coached in a joint fashion. Continue reading
