Sergio Ramos has ‘warned Real Madrid that Paris Saint-Germain are keen to create a super-team by signing him and Lionel Messi as he stalls on signing a new contract’.
Real Madrid are waiting with bated breath to see whether their legendary captain will extend his deal at the Bernabeu, with a deal on the table for him to sign. As it stands, the 34-year-old centre back – still a vital part of Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI – is out of contract in the summer, and he can currently speak to other clubs about a deal starting in June.
And one other club interested in stealing him away from Spain is PSG, who have reportedly told Ramos they want to add him and Messi to their already star-studded team with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Reports from Josep Pedrerol on Spanish programme El Larguero state that Ramos had a cordial meeting with Real president Florentino Perez before the Elche game, in which he said ‘I am not accepting the proposal you have made to meā¦and from now on I will listen to offers.’
Incredibly, it is claimed Ramos then went on to say: ‘Someone from PSG has told me that they are going to create a great team with me and [Lionel] Messi.’
Real Madrid have put an offer on the table to take Ramos through until the summer of 2023, when he would be 37, but multiple reports in Spain claim that talks have reached a complete stalemate. Continue reading
