Gio Reyna has been one of the biggest breakout stars of 2020, and he caps of an incredible year by winning the U.S. Soccer Young Male Player of the Year award. The Borussia Dortmund star received 79% of the total votes, and follows in the footsteps of Barcelona’s Sergiño Dest, Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic and Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent by winning the award.
Reyna has enjoyed a stellar 2020 which began when he was called up to the Borussia Dortmund squad for the mid-season training camp in Marbella. He broke into the first team in the second half of last season, and is now a regular starter for the Black and Yellows. The 18 year old has made a total of 40 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund, scoring five goals and providing eight assists. Continue reafing
