With Christmas just around the corner, thoughts will inevitably soon begin to turn towards the January transfer window, with just 11 days left until it opens.

And although they are once again sitting top of the pile, Liverpool could well be one of the busier teams over the next month or so as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of another title bid.

The Reds are known to always keep their eye out for a bargain, and do not be at all expected to see at least one or two new faces at Anfield come the end of January.

Sanches ‘agreement’ in place

Reports from Italy are claiming that Liverpool have reached an agreement with Lille to sign their Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches for £18m.

It is no secret that the Reds are considering long-term replacements for Gini Wijnaldum, whose contract is set to expire next summer.

And according to TuttoMercatoWeb 23-year-old Sanches is top of their wishlist.

Sanches had a spell at Swansea on loan from Bayern Munich in the 2017-18 season but failed to make much of an impression.
