Government distributes 5,000 food kits in seven communes

The Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES Haiti) distributed 5,000 food kits in seven communes of the Western, Northeastern and Artibonite Departments over the weekend.

The distribution started on Friday in Petit-Goâve where FAES donated dry rations to 1,000 residents.

They later distributed 2,000 food kits in Ti Dolan, Basen Desous and Tarasse which are located in Gonaïves on Saturday before donating another 2,000 at Phaéton, Caracol and Ferrier in the Northeastern Department Sunday. Source

Haiti Gets New UK and Dominican Ambassadors

The United Kingdom and the Dominican Republic Ambassador to Haiti gave President Jovenel Moïse their credentials in a ceremony on Monday.

Mockbul Ali is now the UK’s Ambassador to Haiti while Faruk Miguel became Dominican Republic’s Ambassador to Haiti.

“We hope that our bonds of friendship will strengthen and that the two populations will continue to know each other better, to pursue their common destiny, since they share the same island,” Moïse posted on Twitter about Haiti’s relationship with the Dominican Republic. Source

President Jovenel Moïse inaugurated three new water pumping systems in the Northwestern Department Sunday.

According to the technical data of the pumping systems, each of them is able to irrigate an area of ​​500 hectares of land, altogether with an estimated pumping capacity of 2000 gallons per minute. They operate on solar energy.

Wen-Jianm Ku, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Haiti, was at the inauguration.
