Premier League clubs are reportedly eyeing up Athletic Bilbao star Mikel Vesga with the midfielder’s contract running out next summer.
Vesga’s deal at the San Mames runs until June 30, meaning he is free to agree a pre-contract deal with other clubs when the January transfer window opens.
According to AS, several LaLiga outfits and some Premier League sides have already shown interest in signing the 27-year-old.
But the Spanish sports daily also state that Vesga’s preference would be to stay at Athletic given the connection he feels with the club.
The classy midfielder has played all 90 minutes in Athletic’s last three LaLiga games, including a fine performance in their 4-0 rout of Real Betis. Continue reading
