Chelsea and Barcelona can qualify for the knock-out stages but Manchester United must wait.

The Champions League group stages have reached their halfway stage with several teams on the cusp of qualification, including three of the Premier League’s four representatives.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea can all book their place in the knock-out stages this week after making unbeaten starts to their European campaigns.

Manchester United, meanwhile, will hope to recover from their defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir in the last round of group games.

Other top European clubs like Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich can all book their place in the last-16 with two games to spare.

Here’s what can happen on Tuesday night…

Group E

Chelsea can qualify for the knock-out stages though will only progress early if Sevilla avoid defeat away to Krasnodar.

A draw at Roazhon Park will be enough for Frank Lampard’s side if Sevilla win in Russia. Wins for both Chelsea and Sevilla would see both qualify.

Group F

Group F remains too close to call with only two points separating Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Club Brugge. 

Zenit St Petersburg will be eliminated if they lose away to Lazio and Dortmund win.Continue reading
