During a ceremony Friday at the National Palace, President Jovenel Moïse appointed a five-member advisory committee to develop text for a new constitution.

The committee’s members are Boniface Alexandre, Haiti’s president from 2004 to 2006, Hérard Abraham, a retired general, Mona Jean, Jean Emmanuel Éloi and Louis-Naud Pierre.

Moïse has said that once the new constitution is drafted, people will have the chance to vote on it as a referendum before next year’s elections. Source
