Haitian money transfer agents marched through the streets of Port-au-Prince on Wednesday to push back against central bank regulation that requires them to disburse money transfers in gourde.
The protesters started marching from Lalue and attempted to walk toward the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH). However, security guards stopped them from advancing.
BRH announced Oct. 1 that all money transfers must be disbursed in gourdes instead of dollars. Source

The American dollar will always be the death of all Haitians because they refused to touch the problem. In order to stop depending on foreign governments Haitian people should stand for what’s needed to be done. Reinforcing the GNP by stopping stealing revenue from their institutions. BRH is one of the most corrupt institution responsible for all wrongdoings there. Developing their agriculture to reduce import of certain products Haiti can produce, for instance, corn, rice, eggs, tomatoes, to name a few. Haitians ignored their potentials, they always after foreign governments for help instead using their own potentials. Therefore, if their mentality is not changed, they will need 150 gourdes for one (1) american dollars very soon. We do not need the Emperor waken from his grave to deliver us again because he already trace the way for us.
