Real Madrid – La Liga Next four matches will be key
It doesn’t take an awful lot to set alarm bells ringing at Real Madrid, yet two successive defeats will cause an unholy amount of panic within the ranks, and ahead of Saturday’s Clasico against Barcelona it’s clear that Zinedine Zidane’s future as coach is in the hands of his players.
The image of a Real Madrid team not only losing to Cadiz and Shakhtar Donetsk, but collapsing in the manner they did, isn’t one that can be accepted.
Concern has been instilled amongst supporters, and as we know coaches get very few chances to suffer embarrassments when in charge of Los Merengues. Some fans are afraid that things are only going to get worse over the course of the next four matches, which starts with the Clasico.
Following that, Los Blancos have matches with Borussia Monchengladbach, Huesca and Inter, which will go a long way to defining the continuity of Zidane as Real Madrid coach. Whilst nobody is yet talking about Zidane being replaced directly, at least not within the club, there can’t be blind faith in the coach without evidence of improvement. Continue reading
