Police said they have arrested a man they said shot and killed police officer Michel-Ange François last weekend.

Suspect Sindor Obenson tried to flee on a motorcycle along National Route #2 in the Southern Department on Monday night, but police gave chase and arrested him. A passenger who was on the motorcycle with Obenson managed to escape.

Obenson, 28, had in his possession two firearms, one of which belonged to François, police said. Police also found two cell phones, two rings, about $275 in cash, and an Identification Card belonging to someone named Pierre Louis Katiana.

François was shot several times at a nightclub in Pétion-Ville on Sunday morning. Source
