President Jovenel Moïse has asked the fuel industry to lower the price of kerosene and diesel.

“I promised to enforce the law of March 9, 1995, relating to the prices of petroleum products,” Moïse tweeted. “Today the cost of kerosene and diesel has dropped on the international market

“I ask the competent authorities to decrease the prices of these products without delay.”

Diesel and gasoline prices have decreased from 224 gourdes to 201 gourdes and 179 gourdes to 174 gourdes, respectively, since the currency exchange value of the gourde increased. Source
