Bandits fired 25 gunshots at former senator Youri Latortue’s office, killing his top bodyguard and injuring another on Monday night.
Latortue’s top bodyguard was identified as Diogène ‘Ricot’ Eric and the injured one as Dieuseul Dupras. The ex-senator wasn’t present during the shooting.
“The attack happened five minutes after I left. I had to go to some meetings,” Latortue said. “This was an execution. Twenty-five bullets were fired at Ricot. Dieuseul was shot several times and is in the operating room.”
Members of Haiti in Action, the political party Latortue is part of, said the attack was a result of political controversies. Source
