Graduate student Gregory Saint-Hilaire was shot at Normal Superior School.

Haiti’s Office of Protection (OPC) condemned the murder of Grégory Saint-Hilaire, a graduate student who was shot on campus, in a statement published on Sunday.

Saint-Hilaire was shot in the back during a protest at Superior Normal School on Friday evening. He died on his way to the hospital.

The students who witnessed the crime accused a National Palace security guard. The National Palace has yet responded to phone calls for comment.

Universities must be protected at all times by authorities who are responsible for ensuring the protection of life and property, OPC said. President Moïse said via Twitter an investigation is underway. Source
