The Haitian government established a budget of 254 billion gourdes, equivalent to $3.7 billion, for 2020-21.

The country’s debt more than doubled from 17 billion gourdes to 43 billion gourdes due to the budget. The Republic of Haiti Bank’s expenses also increased from 30 billion to 37 billion gourdes.

According to Le Nouvelliste, President Jovenel Moise and Joseph Jouthe are very optimistic about the budget. Source
