A new building to house the University of Haiti’s Faculty of Applied Linguistics (FLA) started construction in 2014, but it still hasn’t been done completely. The current building’s classrooms and administrative offices have since deteriorated, prompting calls for the new building to be finished.
“The hangars are deteriorating,” a student said. “They are not suitable. Classrooms are inadequate. Sometimes the noise of vehicles passing outside disturbs us even in the classrooms. The bathrooms are inconvenient. This is our sad reality.”
The second floor of the new building was recently built, school official Renaud Govin said. He didn’t mention when the rest of the three-story structure will be completed. Source
