Real Madrid player Didn’t play a minute against Betis
From starting and playing almost the entire match against Real Sociedad, Vinicius Junior went on to spend the whole game against Real Betis watching on from the bench.
It may be a new season, but the Brazilian seems set for another rollercoaster season under Zinedine Zidane.
Vinicius has been part of the first team’s regular plans since early 2019, but he hasn’t been able to find continuity in the team since Zidane’s return in March of that year, often disappearing from XIs and even matchday squads.
Although the club and fans have a lot of confidence in the 20-year-old, that same faith isn’t held by Zidane and his coaching staff.
The 2019/20 season started on a clean slate, but despite starting the LaLiga Santander opener against Celta Vigo, Zidane opted to replace him with James Rodriguez in the following week’s team.
