Haiti President Jovenel Moïse speaking during the 75th United Nations General Assembly Meeting.

Although the nine members of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) haven’t taken an oath before the Court of Cassation as the constitution requires, Haiti President Jovenel Moïse reiterated that there will be an election. Moïse was speaking on Thursday during the 75th United Nations General Assembly Meeting, held virtually this year due to the novel coronavirus.

Prior to the meeting, the Port-au-Prince bar had released a note condemning Moise for going against the constitution.

Moïse said the election will be credible, transparent, and democratic. Source
