
Canada will provide USD $9.3 million to the Haitian National Police (PNH) to strengthen the agency. The Haitian government signed an agreement on Thursday to move the process forward.
“We remain engaged alongside the Haitian government in this process of professionalizing PNH, promoting peace and security in the country,” the Canadian Embassy tweeted.
PNH has struggled tremendously this summer to protect residents from gang violence, while also dealing with rogue police officers suspected of committing some of the acts. Continue reading
