
The Haitian government plans to pay about $2.8 million owed to its petroleum providers and another $466,000 fee to NOVUM, an energy company, according to Le Nouvelliste.
On Sept. 8, media reports surfaced saying that Haiti could experience a gas shortage if its oil debts go unpaid. A source denied the possibility in the Le Nouvelliste report.
