Tottenham have agreed a deal worth around £15million to sign right back Matt Doherty.
Talks accelerated on Friday with the 28-year old defender eager to link up with .
Doherty’s arrival will allow Serge Aurier to move on but Tottenham are still to receive an official bid for the £22m rated full back.
Spurs and Wolves have been holding negotiations over the defender, who enjoyed a stand-out season in 2019-20, over the past week and now the north London side are on the verge of bolstering their options.
Aurier emerged as Mourinho’s first choice option at right back but has been guilty of some glaring errors, with many fans blaming him for giving away needless fouls and penalties in the last campaign.
The club have also sold Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton, so were in need of stronger depth in the position. Last year Kieran Tripper left for Atletico Madrid with no direct replacement.
