Manchester United are reportedly keen on signing  winger Douglas Costa as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks for alternatives after missing Borussia Dortmund’s deadline to sign Jadon Sancho on Monday Morning.

United were given until Dortmund departed for their pre-season training camp in Switzerland to wrap up a sensational £108million move for the England star. But the German side departed on Monday morning with Sancho on the plane.

Solskjaer must now look elsewhere for wingers if United chiefs cannot convince Dortmund to do a deal for Sancho in the coming weeks. 

Costa is believed to be one of those with the  champions preparing for an exodus of first-team stars this summer, according to reports.

The Brazilian winger failed to make an impression on former Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri, starting just six league games all season as the Old Lady retained their Scudetto title.

The Turin side confirmed the appointment of Andrea Pirlo as the club’s new manager last weekend following Sarri’s sacking and Juventus are preparing wide-scale exits as a result.

And , Costa is one of five players set to be sold by the Turin side this summer with Manchester United having a strong interest in the 29-year-old’s signature. 

The report also says that midfield duo Blaise Matuidi and Sami Khedira are also set to be moved on this summer as Pirlo plans a rejuvenation of the Juventus squad. Continue reading
