Monaco are interested in the signing of Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic, according to a report published on French newspaper L’Equipe. Monaco coach Niko Kovac knows Jovic from their tenure in Eintracht Frankfurt and would like to build his Monaco team around the Serbian striker. Milan would also be interested in Jovic, per that same report.

Real Madrid spent €60 million to sign Jovic away from Eintracht just a year ago and would not let him go unless they receive the exact same offer this summer, which seems quite unlikely considering that the transfer market after the pandemic seems to be uncertain, with many clubs willing to wait one year and save some money.

Still, Jovic’s disappointing debut season in Madrid could ultimately force Los Blancos to find a new club for him, even if it’s on a loan deal. The Serbian striker needs minutes and confidence and it doesn’t seem very likely that he will get that in Madrid considering how well Benzema has performed this season.

If Monaco decide to offer €60 million, Madrid would let Jovic go. If they don’t, a loan deal is very likely. Continue reading
