It’s no secret that Kylian Mbappé is the future of football. If Paris Saint-Germain ever decided to sell the 21-year-old before the end of his contract in 2022, it’s expected that the transfer fee would dwarf the €222 million the Ligue 1 champions paid for Neymar Jr. in 2017.
However, if Les Parisiens can extend Mbappé’s contract, his transfer value would increase as well. According to CIES Football Observatory, PSG would add €39 million to Mbappé’s already €242 million worth. The total value of the player with an extension would sit at €281 million.
If a club ever decided that they wanted to purchase Mbappé, like I don’t know, Real Madrid, the Spanish club would have to pay approximately €300 million for PSG to even consider striking a deal. PSG wouldn’t be lowering the price for any team at this point. Continue reading
